  • Mr Randal Eplin

    Head of School USA

    Mr Eplin is an American who has lived overseas for fifteen years with his family. He is married to his lovely wife Lori and they have five children; their youngest son is with them here at BISS. As the Head of School he enjoys working with everyone in the BISS community. He has two undergraduate degrees, a masters degree and is currently working on a doctorate at the University of Liverpool. He is a black belt instructor in Tae Kwon Do with the United States Chung Do Kwon Association.

  • Ms. Erin Parnell

    Kindergarten Teacher Canada

    Erin Parnall was born and raised in a small town in Southern Ontario, Canada. The only child of adventurous parents, who believed learning was experiencing real events, Erin grew up believing China was behind the living room sofa and the nearest adventure was to be reached via her tricycle.

    Erin has spent the last 16 years as a global nomad, living and working abroad with international children and families. Trained in Canada, she has had experience as a teacher in China, Vietnam, Brunei, Turkey and Laos. Erin has extensive experience with a variety of school systems, accrediting agencies, and the Primary International Baccalaureate. Believing each day brings new adventures and the importance of experiencing each moment, Erin is excited to be joining the BISS family this academic year.

  • Mr Dawid Bochen

    Secondary School Assistant Principal - IB MYP Coordinator; Interdisciplinary Learning Coordinator; Music; ATL/ Personal Project Coordinator Poland

    Mr Dawid Bochen comes from Poland. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Music Therapy (graduated with honors) from the Karol Lipinski Academy of Music in Wroclaw, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Pedagogy, with Specialization in Child Care and School Counseling from the University of Wroclaw. Dawid performed a variety of functions throughout his professional career. He has been working as an IB Middle Years Programme Coordinator, music instructor and school counselor, and before that as a music therapist and university lecturer. Dawid is also a certified IB workshop leader. He considers himself to be a lifelong learner, driven by the old Chinese proverb: “Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand”, which in his opinion is reflected in the inquiry based approach promoted by all IB programmes. Dawid lives in Beijing with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, experiencing different cultures, being involved in sports, and further developing his passion for music.

  • Mr. Michael Neuwahl

    IT Coordinator & Design Holland

    Mr. Neuwahl is a 33 year old Dutchman who loves to teach, travel and cook.

    On the personal level, he is happily married to Kristi Neuwahl and they have three wonderful children, by the names of: Logan Aaron (2009), Morgan Brett (2011) and Maya Nora (2016).

    Professionally, Michael has 11 years of relevant international experience in the IT field, holding positions ranging from IT technician to IT director and he also has a few years of teaching experience in a few subject areas.

    In the area of academics, he is determined to obtain additional credentialing in the IT and educational fields in pursuit of "Doing as we teach." and being a lifelong learner.

    Michael's hobbies include (In no particular order.): Cooking, nature walks, sports, reading, boardgames, the occasional computer game and spending quality times with friends and family.

  • Ms. May Cameron

    Optimal Learning Coordinator Hong Kong

    Ms. May Cameron comes from Hong Kong which is a hustle and bustle international city in Asia. She is well-travlled and has been living, travelling and studying across Asia, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. She earned her Bachelor and Master degrees in Special Education from Flinders University of South Australia and University in Sydney in Australia respectively.

    May began her teaching career since 1993, over the 20 years, she has been teaching in local, international schools and special schools in Asia, including China as a homeroom teacher, ESL teacher and Special Education teacher teaching students from different cultural and language background and as well as diverse learning needs.

    Not only teaching students in schools, she was a lecturer of universities in Hong Kong in Special Education, The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Open University of Hong Kong. She ran lectures and workshops for teachers, parents and other professionals to help them to use variety of strategies to cater the students with Special Educational Needs. In schools, she has worked collaboratively with parents, teachers and professionals to deliver high quality individualized educational programmes for those who have learning difficulties.

    May loves traveling and learning new languages and enjoys different kinds of cultural activities. She relocates to Beijing with her beloved daughter who also attend BISS.
