Ms Brenda LiChinese Language & Literature/ Chinese Language Acquisition China
Ms. Brenda Li is from Beijing. She obtained a degree from the Beijing Foreign Studies University majoring in English Language and Literature. She also obtained certifications from the Beijing Normal University of the continued education majoring in Chinese language and literature, as well as the teaching credentials from the National Department of Education. Ms. Brenda Li has been teaching Chinese in BISS for 13 years ranging from different IB Programmes (PYP, MYP, DP) with different language levels. She taught both Chinese Language and Literature and Chinese Acquisition classes and Intermediates in MYP and DP programmes before. She took the role of being the Secondary School Chinese Culture facilitator in 2015-2016.
In the school year 2016-2017, she will be focusing on MYP and DP (Grade 6 – Grade 12) Chinese Language and Literature teaching. Ms. Brenda Li has attended IB MYP and IB DP workshops, specializing in the international education and subject-specific teaching approaches and strategies as well as examination-oriented workshops for the Diploma Programme. She also attended “Annual ACAMIS Conference for Teachers of Chinese Language and Culture” about 9 times.
From the history of the past few years of the Grade 12 IB examination results, the graduates have achieved excellent and desired grades in their finals. Ms. Brenda Li loves Arts and visiting museums. She also likes reading and writing calligraphy for her leisure. She likes a famous Chinese proverb: “A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step."
