Welcome to prospective Teachers,
By the time you read this message, I am sure you have already browsed through the rest of our website. You have probably flown through our colorful photo gallery and gotten a feel for the school, the faces, the events, the joy and the feel of BISS.
I am sure that by now you are familiar with our IB curriculum offerings, our extra curricular offerings, the history, the multicultural essence of our school…in short…you are intrigued enough to go the next step….
The next step would be to read the handbook we have prepared and can be found as an attachment on this page. We have made a great effort to include all the information about working and living here that often is not available to prospective teachers. It is an attempt to show you what your life would be like should you be interested in our wonderful “little school in the big city.” The purpose is for you to be able to make an educated decision about whether this is the right school, city and country for you.
The Handbook for Prospective Teachers includes information about expectations, timetables, teaching hours, extra-curricular responsibilities, professional development, housing, salary, cost of living, savings potential, and more. You will “hear” the voices of our faculty who wish to tell you about their experiences at BISS; they offer you valuable advice and testimonials. Read on…
In addition, we recommend that you peruse the Reading List, which is also posted on this webpage. It will introduce you to titles which will be helpful in your relocation to a new country and to a new culture.
Our staff have helped us compile “42 Reasons to teach at BISS” which we hope will convince you to put pen to paper and finger to key.
If, you have studied all of the above and are still intrigued, we invite you to apply for vacancies which may be advertised on some of the following sites:
