Testimonials

Testimonials.JPGUnlike some other students, I had the choice whether to move to China or not. I knew that this decision was going to compromise my IB Diploma as I was going to change school, face different teaching methods and a different environment. But I was willing to take this risk, as I believed that BISS was going to offer me many great opportunities.

I am now writing this from a BISS graduated student point of view and I can say that I do not regret moving to this school. I believe that BISS is more than a school, it is a community where teachers are willing to stay after school to answer our numerous questions, where joy is part of everyday life and finally where we know that in two, three years time, we can still count on the people from BISS.

I would like to thank every teacher, classmate, Mrs. Shrimpton and Dr. Zilber to make this year such a wonderful and unforgettable time among the BISS people. I have learned so much from this school and made me discover many hidden skills that I would not have discovered if I hadn’t made the decision to move to BISS.

I am very thankful, and glad to be a graduate student from BISS. Thank you so much for this amazing year.

Sincerely,
Hugo Ponsonnet

You and your team perform everyday such a transformation driven to form personalities to survive in future and - to my understanding of life - in a human and responsible manner.  Your mission "To educate and empower our students to attain personal excellence and positively impact the world." were one of the reasons to choose your institute and I have to state: You live it !

In retrospect I really appreciate the environment that we had back in BISS. Well, mainly to be fortunate enough to attend a school like BISS really...The public system and teachers here just cannot compare.

Valerian is attending BISS now since two years. He came as a first grader and will leave as a becoming third grader.

In our opinion, BSS was a wonderful choice. It is one of the smallest international schools in Beijing and definitely not the fanciest one. That’s exactly the reason, why we chose BISS. To know, that your child is learning in a family-like environment is, for us, much more important than big swimming pools and tennis-courts.

Valerian loves the school, because he knows nearly everybody. He loves it, because he can play with his class mates and also with High School students. He loves it, because BISS feels like a home, he loves the assembly, the activities and he loves school, because the teachers do a really good job. Both of Valerians class teachers, Cathy and Pat, as well as the rest of the staff - taught him so many things. It has been a variety of topics they studied and I ´m quite often very astonished what Valerian already knows. He improved a lot! Thanks for that.

We will be sad to leave BISS. It was a very good experience!! Valerian is afraid, that his new school might be not as good as this one. He is really worried about. Well, I hope the repatriation will go smoothly. To make it easier for Valerian, we have chosen a small private run international school in Berlin. Valerian will continue with the IB-Programme. The school allows children to go abroad for 1-2 month a year - so maybe we will knock at BISS-door again next year and ask, if Valerian can attend class for a while.

Come to Berlin!! You are warmly welcome!

Thanks for all

I’m a BISSkid, Loud and Proud
Melody Chia- Alumni (Singapore)

We got through the IGCSE and were now well prepared to start two years of IB. Now that was an even bigger deal. It was the all-important IB and we were in the last two years of school. All of a sudden, the school environment seemed to offer more freedom and flexibility. We were finally being treated like grown-ups. We got to pick and choose our classes and on top of that, we got to choose what level we wanted to take those classes at. Standard level or higher level? It was up to us.

The whole IB experience was tough, grueling, but it prepared me for what to expect at university. The coursework style curriculum combined with Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and C.A.S provided me with a good, solid foundation for the next three years of further education.

School life at BISS has a lot to do with why I am still so strongly connected with Beijing today. I came straight back to this city as soon as I finished university! I thoroughly enjoyed going to school every day I lived here. The memories I have from school are for the most part positive and have hugely influenced who I am today. As cliché as it might be, it is 100% true. BISS was where I learnt to speak up and have an opinion. That has really helped me through university and now in my job because that was when I started developing common sense. Having good sense and sound judgment is crucial to being a successful Account Manager working in Public Relations, and I owe it all to the education I received at BISS.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks and deepest appreciation for the wonderful support and guidance given by the school to our children - Vibhuti Rajpal and Vaibhav Rajpal, who have recently passed out from Grade 5 & 2 respectively.

Vibhuti and Vaibhav have shown personal and academic growth and we know that is largely due to the individual attention, patience and affection they have got at BISS.  The commitment and dedication shown by the teachers at BISS has helped made a positive difference not only in their academic knowledge but have contributed immensely to their all round development.  The positive environment provided at BISS has helped them grow in their self-confidence.

We greatly appreciate the extra effort and time Mr. Glen Royce, Ms. Cathy Brown and you specifically took to help Vibhuti & Vaibhav prepare for their admission and academics in India.  It was largely due to this, both of them did not have any problem getting admission to one of the best schools in Delhi and we are glad to tell you that both of them have amalgamated well in the school and are settling down fast in their respective classes.

We feel that all this would have not been possible without the excellent leadership provided by you, ably supported by a conscientious and dedicated lot of teachers.  Despite your busy schedule you were always accommodating and ensured that you were personally there to encourage BISS children in their sports and cultural activities.  During our three and half years, you were extremely helpful & forthcoming.

Going to BISS for our children never felt like going to a school; BISS was always like an extended family. There is so much love, affection and camaraderie amongst each other. We wish BISS family and yourself all the very best in future!

With warmest regards,

Rohit Rajpal & Hema Rajpal (India)

"I can say we are really satisfied to have chosen this school, because they did great job in helping my daughters to feel at ease in a completely different environment and in a foreign language. Teachers are good, everybody is very caring and helpful, classrooms are made of ten-twelve children and not 15/20, it's a big difference! The school is not big and so the atmosphere is very "cozy" and familiar."

"My daughters now speak and read wonderful English, have a lot of friends and are so happy with the school, that they cry if they are ill and can't go!"

Mrs. Mavi Cereza (Italy)

Our daughter has been going to BISS for more than 3 years now and we have seen her develop both academically and personally in a manner with which we are more than satisfied. It is a school with a human touch where nobody gets lost. BISS impresses most with a very high standard of teaching and an emphasis on developing social skills and responsibility of their students in a warm and caring environment rather than with fancy facilities. Academic and administrative staffs are very committed and always have an open ear for students and parents alike.

See you soon,
